Testimonial from Izipizi's Supply Chain Director
Lucas Gaurichon, Izipizi's Supply Chain & Data Director, explains how the French fashion and design eyewear brand addressed key issues of lack of visibility and efficient communication with its suppliers thanks to Winddle.
Why set up a supply chain management platform?
"As our business grew, we were faced with the challenge of diversifying our supplier base. Maintaining product and service quality was key. In particular, controlling delivery schedules to ensure we kept our stock levels in Europe was crucial for the Supply Chain. Communication quickly became a challenge for us. For each supplier purchase order, the teams had around a hundred e-mails to deal with, leaving room for many misunderstandings and/or errors. Finding information quickly was like looking for a needle in a haystack. In short, our poor ability to extract important information concerning quality, deadlines and supply processes was reducing our ability to anticipate, and preventing us from meeting our commitments. We were therefore looking for a solution capable of supporting us in this growth while addressing these key issues."
Why did you choose Winddle?
"We chose Winddle for a number of reasons:
- The dashboards: They give us complete and rapid visibility of all our supply flows. It's very easy to find the complete status of our orders, whether they're in production, in transit or in the quality testing phase. As a result, we can better control the timing and manage our suppliers at these different stages of production.
- Supplier collaboration: Our teams now have a common base from which they can easily exchange information with suppliers. This has enabled us not only to strengthen our bonds of trust with them, but also to gain in efficiency and productivity thanks to centralized exchanges.
- Performance indicators: Winddle also offers advanced functionalities for monitoring supplier and procurement performance. We use the platform's KPIs to obtain concrete information on our suppliers' commitments, their OTD and OTIF, the average leadtime for the various production phases, etc. These KPIs are calculated automatically on the basis of data entered directly by our suppliers on the platform, enabling us to monitor compliance with deadlines and service quality in line with our contractual commitments.
- Finally, real-time alerts on orders: Thanks to these, we are immediately informed of any hazards, which enables us to make the right decisions more quickly."
How did your suppliers react to the introduction of Winddle? How did you support them?
"To implement the tool, we worked hand in hand with our suppliers. First of all, we explained the problems we were encountering, then we organized demonstration sessions. The idea was to make them aware of the issues of visibility, defects and loss of information. Then, of course, we presented them with the solution and its user-friendly interface, which was very well received. After the Winddle teams had helped them to develop their skills in using the platform, they are now completely autonomous and very satisfied with it".
Can you share a concrete example of a situation where Winddle brings you real added value?
"There's a very telling example that comes to mind. At the end of last year, we were faced with production delays on various product ranges. Unfortunately, we hadn't been able to identify these delays in time, so we had to resort to air transport, which not only resulted in additional costs, but also went against our CSR objectives: to reduce our use of this mode of transport. Now, with Winddle, we benefit from better visibility, which enables us to identify hazards more quickly and gain the anticipation we need to make decisions that aren't last-minute. Not only are we developing our relationship of trust with our suppliers, but we're also performing better in human, business and environmental terms.
